Sitting down to talk to the cast of ‘The Avengers’, I accidentally insulted Captain America. Oops.
I got to go the World Premiere of ‘The Avengers’. And tried in vain to say the word ‘familiarity’ to Chris Hemsworth
There’s ComicCon, and then there’s… WonderCon. This convention is like the baby sister to a teenaged ComicCon. Not as big, but not as difficult either. But just because it’s a little smaller does not mean it skimps on the star factor. I stood on the press lines for a day and chatted to some famous faces about their upcoming films…
‘Project X’ makes me feel old. Not only have I never been (or want to go) to any parties remotely resembling this crazy one, but it makes the ‘party’ films of my youth seem extremely tame. I remember watching ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ for the first time and thinking, “They skipped school?? He crashed a PARADE??” like it was the most insane thing I had heard of. Now? Not so much. But I still wore my Ferris t-shirt in support of one of my favorite films when I went to interview the young lads of ‘Project X’. (“Get off my lawn! Crazy kids!”)
So… John Carter didn’t live up to the (reported) $250 million Disney spent to make it, and the box office takings have been dismal. The word ‘flop’ comes to mind. But at the very least… the premiere was fun!
Whenever I post these videos, I’m often told “Wow, you have the coolest job ever!” And when I was standing on the BAFTA red carpet in London, I had to admit that was true. Especially the ‘cool’ bit (COLD WEATHER PUN!)
I’m told ‘This Means War’ is not a chick flick. It’s also not a guy flick. Could this be a film for… HUMANS?? I headed to the premiere to find out.
How cool is Liam Neeson? I love how he’s become an action hero over the last few years. Liam vs killer wolves? Gotta feel sorry for the wolves!
I suited up (bow tie included) to chat to Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington about their action thriller ‘Safe House’.
I’d heard about Elizabeth Olsen’s performance in ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’ after Sundance last year, so when I got the chance to see it and talk to her at the Toronto Film Festival, I grabbed it! And she was every bit as charming as I expected…
Angelina Jolie… is there anything she CAN’T do? Acting, humanitarian work and now writing and directing. But not just a film in English, no that would be too easy…
Ahhhh… Leonardo DiCaprio. Not only is he impossibly dreamy, he is unbelievably talented. And seems to love tackling complex real people on film. I was so excited to talk to him, Aussie Naomi Watts and up and coming star Armie Hammer…
At the Toronto Film Festival I sat down with the gorgeous Shailene Woodley to talk about ‘The Descendants’, and George Clooney of course.
‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’… it’s a fun title to say, and a brilliant little spy thriller with a great British cast, I adore Gary Oldman!
I got up close with all the stars and grilled them about what they REALLY think about critics, at the Cirtic’s Choice Awards. Clooney!
Here in LA, I often have a few ‘pinch myself’ moments… interviewing Kermit & Miss Piggy was definitely one of them. Amy Adams, Jason Segal and new Muppet Walter were equally as lovely. I adored this film!
RDJ is one of my favorite actors to interview, he’s so cheeky, eloquent and you never can be sure what you are going to get. He was in a great mood talking about his other ‘baby’ Sherlock Holmes 2, and I also spoke to the innovative Guy Ritchie, lovely Jared Harris and tough chick Noomie Rapace…
Did you know the BAFTAs hold awards in LA? Me neither, until I went along to this red carpet and checked it out…
I braved the crowds of screaming fans to talk (quickly) to the stars of Breaking Dawn Part 1. The level of fan-dom for these films is insane… can you remember camping out for anything when you were a teenager?
I was journalist number 5 million for the day, talking to the Twilight cast about the penultimate film and yes, THAT love scene….
Buff bods, swords, Freida Pinto… need I say more? Tarsem Singh’s “Immortals” looks pretty amazing on screen, and I sat down with the cast to talk a little bit about it…
I got to chat to the gorgeous Johnny Depp at the World Premiere of “The Rum Diary”. Ladies, he touched my arm, and I DIED…
I sat down with a rugged looking Sam “Wortho” Worthington (that’s what I like to call him, not sure he likes it) to chat about his role in the espionage thriller “The Debt”… check it out!
After a series of remakes, I was relieved to discover this version of “The Thing” was actually a prequel. It’s hard to recapture the creepiness of the 80′s original, but this cast does their best to freak us out. Check out my interviews below!
Steven Soderbergh’s disease disaster thriller “Contagion” is finally out in Australia. Featuring an all-star cast, its creepy story will make you want to wash your hands, cover yourself in a bubble, and never touch anyone again! I sat down with Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne & Jennifer Ehle to chat about the film…
As much as I dislike the idea of remakes, I have to admit, dammit, the new “Footloose” was a lot of fun. Here’s some of my interviews with the cast…
At the Toronto International Film Festival, I went along to the premiere of “Drive”, where I couldn’t help but express my love for this gritty thriller.
I chatted to the funny cast of “30 Minutes or Less” about looking good on black carpets and how hard it is to find an original comedy script…
For the second time in a few months, I got to interview Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds (lucky me!) who recently starred in “Horrible Bosses” and “Green Lantern”. This time, they were paired together for their body swapping comedy “The Change-Up”. And it was obvious that these two are great friends off screen, as well as on. Check it out!
If you haven’t watched “The Help” yet… what have you been doing? This film has a great story, with a wonderful cast who I’m predicting you will be seeing a lot more of, particularly around Awards Season… Check out a bit of my interview with some of the talented girls below!
I was lucky enough to be able to experience Comic Con for the first time, and was amazed by the reception the convention gets, not just from the fans but also the celebs, who really love to be there. And I discovered that there are a few secret geeks in Hollywood!
Ryan Reynolds seems to be able to do it all… comedy, action, and looking good in a CGI suit. I donned a green dress to chat to him about his comic book flick “Green Lantern” in LA…
For the first time ever, a huge summer blockbuster held it’s World Premiere during Comic Con, just for the fans. Director Jon Favreau was keen to deliver this film directly to them, and boy, were the fans excited! (Does anyone say “boy” anymore? Or just me?)
After hearing about Comic Con for a number of years, I finally got to go! And it was insane. Three days of interviews, hours standing in the one spot, stars from five different films walking down the press line at once… sounds like most reporter’s nightmare, but for me it was heaven! And three movies in particular made a buzz with the fans… the Spiderman reboot, Tintin directed by Spielberg, and of course… Breaking Dawn. Check out a little bit of my interviews below!
I sat down with fellow Aussies Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett, as well as Saorise Ronan and director Joe Wright to talk about their kick-butt action film “Hanna”. Saorise Ronan is a mini Jason Bourne, and the whole film feels like a slick European thriller…
It’s funny when you interview people you’ve grown up watching, they seem so familiar that you feel you already know them. And Tom Hanks is so lovely, energetic and fun in real life, he makes you feel comfortable straight away. I got to chat to him about “Larry Crowne” which he not only stars in, he also co-wrote, produced and directed!
All good things must come to an end. Chocolate bars, hugs from friends, and the Harry Potter franchise. I was lucky enough to travel to London to interview the cast (minus Daniel Radcliffe, who was dancing about on Broadway), and they told me all about how this is the darkest yet. Press play… Confundo! (Boom! I’ve just put a spell on you!)
Tom Hanks seems to know how to have fun. The Oscar winning actor turned up to the premiere riding a scooter, before laughing his way down the press line. He is now one of my favourite actors to talk to, he’s so full of energy! I scored a high five. Yeah!
I put a pink dress on and went to the LA premiere of “Kung Fu Panda 2″, where I was suddenly nervous looking into Angelina Jolie’s eyes…
Interviewing the wolf pack of “The Hangover Part 2″, and talking on camera with a monkey on my head. Words I didn’t think I would ever say.
Chatting to the cast of “Something Borrowed” on their blue carpet, and getting “wowed” by John Krasinski…
In this one I try and talk intelligently about a stoner knighthood comedy. While talking about orgies.
Arrrrrr…. I be sailing the high seas and doing bad pirate speak in Disneyland for the massive world premiere for Pirates of the Caribbean, number four.
Just went to Rio to interview the cast of “Fast Five”… no. big. deal.
Kicking it with the nominees at the 2011 Independent Spirit Awards… they serve alcohol on the red carpet… now that’s my kind of event!
Talking to the very cool dude Matthew McConaughey and his co-stars, at the premiere of “The Lincoln Lawyer”…
I sat down with Amanda Seyfried to talk about “Red Riding Hood”… Click!
Chatting about the Aussies up for Oscars on The Morning Show. Aussie Aussie Aussie!
“The Rite” screenwriter Michael Petroni… Filmink Magazine Australia, March 2011 Click Here!
Chatting slo-mo explosion walking with the cast of the sci-fi flick “I Am Number Four”
Hitting the red carpet (not literally, poor red carpet) at the 2011 Critic’s Choice Movie Awards.
Me + Jake Gyllenhaal = One sided love.
Talking 3D porn with Geoffrey Rush at “The Legend of the Guardians” Australian Premiere…
Zac Efron and his beard have a chat to me in Sydney for “Charlie St Cloud”…
Getting a sneaky hug from “The Other Guys” Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell…
Catching up with the boys again at the Australian premiere, held for some reason, at Robina shopping mall on the Gold Coast.
Here I am chatting to the young stars of Australian film “Tomorrow When The War Began”…
Talking “Salt” with director Phillip Noyce…
With dreamboat Ewan McGregor, when he was in Australia for “The Ghost Writer”…
And interviewing “Twilight” stars Kristin Stewart and Taylor Lautner… where I just had to ask about his abs… classy.
